Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie

Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie

This is the smoothie we make most often: frozen strawberries, plain yogurt and a little milk, with a few oats to make it more filling. It tastes like a strawberry milkshake but is much less sweet.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen organic strawberries
  • 3/4 cup plain yogurt whole-milk or Greek
  • 3/4 cup milk dairy or plant-based
  • 2 tbsp rolled oats optional
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1–2 tsp honey or maple syrup optional, to taste

Method

  1. If using oats, put them in the blender first and pulse a few times to break them up.
  2. Add the milk, yogurt, strawberries and vanilla.
  3. Blend on high for about 1 minute, scraping down the sides once if needed, until completely smooth.
  4. Taste and blend in honey if you want it sweeter. Pour and serve right away.

Notes

  • Let frozen berries sit for 5 minutes before blending if your blender is not very powerful.
  • Greek yogurt makes a thicker, spoonable smoothie; regular yogurt pours more easily.
